I\u2019m doing what should be a fun and exciting gig out in New Jersey next week. It\u2019s a ballroom dance band. The leader of the date is my friend Happy Feet Pete. I\u2019ve played with Pete as a jazz bassist, but for this one he\u2019s singing and playing guitar. The sound is maybe something like Brian Setzer Orchestra; the set is swing, some early rock\u2019n\u2019roll and I guess some salsa and cha-cha and tangos and different dances. I don\u2019t know exactly; he has a book of charts. I do know the other horn player is Rich Williams, probably the best sax player I know, an absolute monster especially when it comes to Charlie Parker.<\/p>\n
So if you’re into ballroom dancing come on down.<\/p>\n
