{"id":170,"date":"2009-02-11T01:49:35","date_gmt":"2009-02-11T06:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zingman.com\/blog\/?p=170"},"modified":"2009-02-11T01:49:35","modified_gmt":"2009-02-11T06:49:35","slug":"ski-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zingman.com\/blog\/2009\/02\/11\/ski-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Ski Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well after all my complaining about the cold, it seems like someone finally listened and we\u2019re now enjoying a nice mild spell.\u00a0 All the snow has pretty much melted in the last two days.<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday Jeannie I went on a day trip skiing without the kids, up to the Berkshires.\u00a0 And we just barely beat the weather.\u00a0 When we woke up at the break of day it was 12 degrees out, and by the time we made it to the mountain it was 28 or so.\u00a0 Just perfect.\u00a0 Conditions were good and our energy level was high, and we both had a fantastic day skiing.\u00a0 All that Nordic Track has really been paying off.\u00a0 By early afternoon the temperature had crept above freezing, as evidenced by the snow sticking to our skis and melting on the ride up the lift.\u00a0 Still it made it pleasant to be out, so we kept on going, and by the time were ready to go home they had turned on the lights for night skiing.\u00a0 When we got into the car the thermometer said 44 degrees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well after all my complaining about the cold, it seems like someone finally listened and we\u2019re now enjoying a nice mild spell.\u00a0 All the snow has pretty much melted in the last two days.
